So Autumn went out for a run today and again she got chased by a dog on the carriage roads that was off leash. Now just about a month ago she got bit by a dog while out on a run in the park. I guess I will have to teach her how I used to deal with animals attacking me while running.
First you need to take a breath because you'll need plenty of O2. Next you need to say out loud, what one person can do another can do. After that you're ready to attack. By holding out your forearm you've given the animal what they want, something to bite. The forearm is useless though so let that little bastard get hold of it.
Once it locks down you've got the advantage and you can either use your other arm and punch it or you can pin the animal to the ground and step on it or choke it out.
Personally I just run as fast as I can and always get away, but you've got to have a plan if speed fails you.
