After yesterdays success I headed out the door for another run. I told Autumn I might be right back or I might be about an hour. 10.3 miles later I was back, 1:03:53. Out on the MDI marathon course. Wind is wicked.
A course report.
It's been a while since the wind has been strong on the island although that's not normal. Looks like it's going to keep picking up as the weekend goes. Looks like a bad wind for the marathoners, sorry all, pray the weather people are wrong or you'll be running into a headwind the first 10-k, from 8.3 to 12.6 and then the final 10-k. All I can say is the year I ran 2:32 on the course the wind blew the winter hat right off my head in the 3rd mile. Hope you like wind.
Also I noticed in the first 10-k of the course they've done a lot of patch work on the shoulder of the road. It's pretty gritty and loose and you'll want to stay in the road so not to slip.
There is also some construction going on in somesville from about mile 20 to 20.8. It's on the other side of the road but trafffic is tight so look out.
I'll be out and about, probably right about 20.5 miles to 24.5 miles because that's where people look like shit and that's where I'll probably have some soup and a kick in the ass for you. Ask RK all about it.
